I enjoy doing just about everything on line. I pay my bills on line, I buy my clothes online, and I purchase my shoes online. I find restaurants and eat their food from looking them up online. I do almost everything that I have to do online. So when I mentioned that I wanted to learn tennis online, my friends looked at me and thought, great what else is new? The Best Way To Learn Tennis
One of my favorite things to do when I started to learn tennis was to pretend like I knew what I was doing. I had a friend who would play with me. She was way more advanced than me, since at the time that we were playing I was self taught and she was professionally trained. Yet she would still play tennis with me. You know it was like the genius kid who’s taking 12th grade math, in the 3rd grade, doing the math of a 1st grader. That’s basically how we were matched up. And yet she would play tennis with me, let me postulate and pretend that I was doing well at the game, when I wasn’t. She is definitely a really good friend.
Well as I began to get a little better at the tennis thing, she would apply the pressure, just a little bit to our games. She would begin to hit the ball in opposite ends of the course, once I actually mastered the art of returning a serve, which by the way she had to slow down considerably. Then she would sometimes use her fast serves as a tool to help me learn tennis and keep me humbled when I got all over confident of her missing one of my serves. When she realized that I had figured out how to do a drop serve, she began to fire aces at me. Now if you know anything about tennis, you know that an ace, is not only a wicked serve, but it’s a super fast one. I have never seen a professional return a serve. So imagine my shame and embarrassment when I tried and landed very squarely on my face.
The funniest thing about all of this is that she did her best not to laugh at me. Then finally she says to me, perhaps you start taking professional tennis lessons, so that you can learn to play tennis the right way. Then she and I could play a real game of tennis. Imagine that I would be surprised to learn that I hadn’t been playing a real game of tennis with her. Instead she was using our games as a way to help me learn tennis. Well seeing that I was tired of getting spanked by a girl. I took her advice and went and took professional lessons. And now, when we play a game of tennis, it is very rousing, and a mutual work out for both of us. A Little Tennis Instruction Video Fun
I have a group of guys that I play tennis with every weekend. We generally play all day and then sit around and catch up on stuff. You know who’s getting a promotion, whose company stocks are going up, whose football team got spanked and so forth. The other day we were talking about our tennis game and one of the guys mentioned that he bought a tennis instruction video. Now I will be honest, he really got ragged on for about 20 minutes. We dogged his game, the way he swung and everything. Who ever heard of ‘real’ men watching some video tennis instructions? I mean really. But after about another five minutes, and several side splitting laughs on his behalf we started asking questions about his video.
You see we actually could see an improvement in the way he played tennis. His form was much better, and he seemed to be playing at a better rate than all of us combined. So while we were picking at him about being a chump and buying a video for instructions. We were slightly jealous of the fact that he was able to hit several more return serves this game, than he did last game. As a matter of fact it was probably due to his tennis instruction video that he was able to hit the winning shot of the last doubles set that we played. It gave him a very unfair advantage over us, because we all think we’re the best tennis players that haven’t walked the professional circuit. So we are all equal and then here he comes with his fancy returns and killer drop balls.
When I say he was killing us and all from a video. When we were talking we learned that he was able to view the stances, swings, form and various other positions from all views. His video provided alternative responses based on different types of serves and returns. He said he learned how to pick up returns that no one would expect. He even showed us a few moves he learned on the court long after we stopped playing and cracking jokes on him.
I think that when he was all done, we all wanted to buy our own tennis instruction video. I think we were all planning to secretly and then come back and explode on the tennis court with our improved skills. My Thoughts On Tennis Lessons Online
I enjoy tennis. I think its fun and it’s a great way to get a total body work out. But there aren’t always instructors available when you are ready to start your tennis lessons. So if you can’t get to an instructor in your area, or take tennis lessons at a local club, you can take tennis lessons online. Oh yes, you can go right on line and take tennis lessons. And the beauty if this is that you can actually learn to play tennis whenever you want to. When ever you have a little free time, you are able to learn to play tennis.
I have to say that I learned tennis the traditional way. You know with a racquet, little green fuzzy balls, an instructor and a machine. Yes the machine that was full of the little green fuzzy balls that shot out at you in perfectly timed minutes. Yes that machine. I learned with an instructor in the tight white shorts and polo top with the matching white sun visor. He would first teach me how to hold the racquet and then how to swing the racquet and finally how to hit a ball with the racquet. My favorite piece of advice from him was always to tell me to keep my eyes on the ball. Very, very important piece of information for me to learn and I have to tell you I think that when ever I play tennis that still comes back to me.
So when I checked out tennis lessons online for a friend of mine, I was very, very skeptical. Perhaps that was an understatement. My school of thought was very old school. While I like to think I’m very forward thinking, I’m really not. But I checked out the tennis lessons on the internet from various sites and began to look at what they had to offer. I of course kept thinking there is no substitute for an instructor in your ear and a machine shooting little green fuzzy balls at you. But I was mistaken. After looking at several sites that offered tennis lessons, I realized that I was wrong. With all the angles and slow moves, rewinds and 360 views, I was ready to toss all my old school ways.
I’m not sure that I would give up completely on having someone standing right next to you, but I can definitely say that taking tennis lessons online comes pretty close. I was convinced and I told me friend that. Since she trusts my word when it comes to tennis, she took the lessons online and is doing a really good job keeping up with me. Locating The Best Tennis Instruction DVD
I have been looking lately for the best tennis instruction DVD around. I haven’t quite stumbled across any that I felt were major. I’ve looked almost everywhere at that. I went to a large bookstore and sat in one of their very comfy chairs. The chair was so comfy that I almost fell asleep twice and three times I forgot why I was there, besides sitting in that big ole comfy chair. And while there happen to be a lot of reading material they really didn’t have a good selection of DVD’s for my needs.
Then I tried the library. Now one would think that in this day and age, the library wouldn’t really have much of anything. I mean every one is moving to technology and the ability to Google or Wikipedia everything. There isn’t much that a library could actually offer one. Or at least that’s how I thought. I was wrong. While the library did hold a nice amount of tennis instruction DVD’s, they still didn’t house the actual information that I really needed. Don’t get me wrong they had some pretty nice DVD’s but what I wanted I didn’t find with them.
So finally after my wanderings for the best tennis instruction DVD outside, I finally decided to go where I should’ve gone to begin with. The internet, for some reason the internet always carries the very best selection of tennis instruction DVD’s around. A lot of that could have to do with the fact that the internet is visited by over 100 million people on a regular basis. So with such a vast buyer base, they provide options of everything.
